We just saw Star Wars, The Force Awakens, and it was great. Sure, there were plot holes and although I LOVE the new character Rey... she is a bit of a Mary Sue (simply put, a character who is perfect, and doesn't know it). But I don't really care. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a female character who kicks butt and doesn't need a man to take care of her. I also revel in see a strong female character carry an epic series. Best YA Books Based on Fairy Tales
I love YA Books Based on Fairy Tales! I think what I like best about them are the similarities of the old classics paired with the twists of the author's imagination. One of the book series I picked up this year was The Lunar Chronicles. This is the story of … [Read more...]

My Top YA Book Picks This Year
In the last year, I've read about 40 YA titles, mostly Si Fi (ish)/romance type books (but not all). First because that is the type of books, I like and second, I figured I was doing research and needed to get in as many as I could. There are no books on this list that I didn't find something to like. There were some, I wish ended differently (Alliegent ... you know what you did.). But this list is not really in any order (although it is on the top, and I think the Hunger Games series will … [Read more...]
